Position: Technical Buyer

Daily duties and responsibilities/summary of role: We are currently looking for an experienced technical buyer to join our team.

Bowyer Engineering Ltd was established over 70 years ago and specialise in the manufacture of high precision, high quality components suppled direct to various sectors including Aerospace, automotive, oil and gas.

The right candidate will be comfortable purchasing material, components, and sub-contract processes in line with company procedures and KPI’s. You will ensure that all customer requirements are accurately flowed down to suppliers. Monitor outstanding purchase orders and expedite delivery. Obtain competitive quotes for goods and services based on identified project requirements.
Manage supplier performance, monitoring and develop relationships to ensure that business requirements are met, including T&C’s and NDA’s.

Skills and qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have familiar manufacturing background and experience as a technical buyer and will also have the:

• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Understanding of raw materials specifications
• Knowledge of special processes
• Microsoft office skills
• Knowledge of aerospace specifications such as AS9100, RR 9000 SABRe etc. would be a distinct advantage
• Syspro ERP skills would be an advantage.

· Previous experience in a similar role.
· Enthusiastic approach.
· Be able to work without close supervision.
· Energetic and dynamic individual with “can do” attitude.
· Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

Multi Axis Setter/Operator

Summary of role: We are currently looking for an experienced Multi axis Setter/Operator to join our
increasing team of highly skilled engineers. Our impressive growth plans accompanied by recent
investments have created this very exciting opportunity.

The Family run business was established over 70 years ago and specialise in the manufacture of high
precision, high quality components supplied direct to various sectors including Aerospace, automotive
and oil and gas.

The candidate must be comfortable working to tight deadlines and complex customer specifications.
You will be expected to perform all functions of the machine including setup, operation, and
maintenance of our market leading Matsuura 5-axis production centres. In the role you will be
expected to work with other members of the team to ensure that all work orders are completed on
time and within our expected quality targets. You must be able to read and understand technical
specifications, identify tooling, work holding methods and devices for producing the components
whilst communicating with the team leader and managers when additional equipment is needed to
fulfil the job. A “Right First Time” mentality must always be applied, and candidates will be
responsible for working alongside our quality department to ensure parts conform and complete
component traceability is maintained.

Essential Requirements:
· Previous experience in a similar role.
· Set up, operate, and maintain 3/5-axis mills
· Set up and operate precision measuring instruments
· Disciplined approach to manufacturing and component quality.

· Be able to work without close supervision.
· Energetic and dynamic individual with “can do” attitude.
· Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

Preferred:
· Previous experience operating CNC machines.
· A broad understanding of metallic materials
· Experience on Fanuc operating systems
· Edgecam knowledge or similar CAM system

Capacity to design, manufacture and notch bespoke ultrasonic, eddy current and radiography NDT inspection standards.

Instrumentation - Rakes & Probes

Manufacturing and repair services for gas turbines. Aero engine and power generation units

Inspection Arms & Manipulators

We design and build engine sections to aid the development of the manipulator.

Special Purpose Machines & Automation

Our CNC turning process produces custom prototypes and end-use production parts.
